Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21, 1983) is a well-known American actress. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she quit high school and moved to Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first part as Rachel's Room's main character the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002 she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon once more in the show's final episode and two other episodes. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child received her a nomination for an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. After that she was able to play in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (12). Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
